CONDITION OF CAR
‐ 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic ConvertibleCondition Items to Know
While the car looks extremely good from 8 feet away, to put this car into
probably require a new paintjob.
The right side passenger door apparently had an 8 inch (@) bonded area which has cracked a little. Red
wax and polymer waxes however have kept this area from being noticed abruptly. There are two rust
holes in the inside trunk bottom that we were planning to repair this spring. They are covered by a
burgundy carpet. The top although in good condition should probably be replaced when the car is
painted. I know the top cost around $350.00…labor I am not sure of. The rear glass window has
separated a little and I have a strong white tap sealing this area across nicely. There are minor dings
around the body here and there from car doors etc. but the car shines through them. This car is a real
attention getter. We never hooked up the metal piece that controls the transmission to shift down
(haven’t needed it) however that part can be ordered from Holly.

Just about everything.
2 summers ago we put a new hand crafted interior in the car and had the seats made to the specs of the
original design of the original seats. We ordered new seatbelts from Florida and while we were at it we
had all new carpet installed. The dashboard IS NOT cracked and the interior is in excellent condition.

Last summer we had the transmission flushed and new seals put in. Thought it was leaking. Turns out it
might be the power steering pump that is leaking. Even though we redid the engine, occasionally there
is some oil noticed on the floor. A couple of months ago we had the carburetor checked, tuned and new
vacuum hoses put on.

This a great driving car that seats six, although it has only been myself driving the car.
There’s probably more ”stuff” done to the car as it has been a great hobby over the past 8 to 9 years.
