Same owner since 1988. It runs & drives well, though is not a show car. Car is restored original per data plate and has numbers matching engine block, heads, transmission case and rear end. Factory: 289-4V; stiffer springs & shocks; quick ratio steering box; Candy Apple Red; parchment pony interior, styled steel wheels; full length console; deluxe mirrors package, power top. Rally Pac and have all proper components from 1966 to add air conditioning have been added.
In 1993 unibody was rebuilt with new floor pans and frame rails. Bare metal repaint; seats recovered; new dash pad & carpet; suspension rebuilt, transmission rebuilt; seats recovered, dashpad, & carpet replaced.
In 2003 engine was rebuilt by McPherson College Auto Restoration program. Numbers matching engine block is bored .030 with new 9.3 to 1 pistons; numbers matching heads are ported & polished; hotter camshaft; Edelbrock Torquer aluminum intake manifold; Holley 600CFM carburetor; reproduction Shelby tri-Y exhaust headers. The factory original original cast iron intake, carb, exhaust manifolds, and air breather are included with car. Brake calipers and wheel cylinders were rebuilt, and new brake pads installed. Automatic transmission had new seals and shift kit installed. Convertible top was replaced.
