This extremely rare 1957 Continental Mark II is one of 444 of it's production year. It has recently been the subject of a mild restoration, showcasing the newly painted and believed to be the original color- Opal Blue exterior with re-dipped chrome accents. The matching Blue and White leather interior has been completely reupholstered including the seats, dash, carpet, headliner, door panels, visors, and glove box.
The engine has been meticulously maintained and starts with no hesitation. It boasts the original Turbo-Drive 3 speed automatic transmission and 368 cu in V-8 pumping out 300hp and has a completely rebuilt starter and generator. The carburetor has been overhauled along with a new timing set, igniter, and fuel tank hoses. The fuel tank was removed and cleaned to ensure there's no corrosion. The radiator has been overhauled along with the water pump. Also, new vent hoses, fuel filler hose, radiator cap, transmission seal kit, and vacuum lines have been adde. When the new belts were put on, the original belts were discovered to have been the existing set!
Due to this and the lack of wear on the brake pedal, it appears that the mileage shown, at under 33,000 - is believed to be original mileage. Most of the factory build records for Continentals have been lost, so almost none can technically have a "matching number" engine; however this car carries a block number falling right in line within the expected range of variation. Therefore, it's almost certainly its factory original engine.
It's won 4 awards in the Lincoln & Continental Owners Club including a First Place Senior, 2 First Place Primaries, and a Second Place Primary. This upgraded model comes with the A/C option adding to it's rarity (it even has the original A/C compressor though not hooked up). This car cannot leave the garage without people gawking at it's rarity and elegance.
